Qualifications: Requires a Master’s Degree or higher, a LBSI or II, and supervisory endorsements, Type 75/ Administrator PEL; and at least two (2) years of special education teaching experience. We are willing to consider those in the administrator track who are hired as technical assistants until the administrator PEL is obtained.

Must have the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with BMP staff, member districts, and related personnel and to contribute to the accomplishment of a shared goal.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate with others, to create a climate of trust, and address possible conflict in order to resolve such conflict at the earliest possible stage.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve on the Building Based Team to provide coordination, consultation and technical assistance to promote the collaboration of school professional staff, aides and related service personnel relative to programming for all students.
Serve as the facilitator of Eligibility meetings and assist in making recommendations regarding eligibility and/or service delivery options.
Participate as a member of Individual Education Planning Conferences to provide technical assistance in the development of the written plan.
Schedule and attend Annual Review Conferences.
Provide input to the BMP Director regarding revisions in forms, policy, and/or procedures.
Provide input regarding the development of new or additional programs/classes within member districts.
Monitor all programs for class size and/or age range deviations.
Review student files, upon request of local district personnel, to assist in interpreting service delivery needs of students new to the cooperative.
Serve as a liaison between the BMP and member districts.
Provide, upon request, assistance to member districts to evaluate special education personnel.
Monitor all IEPs to ensure accuracy.
Attend, conduct, and/or participate in in-service training sessions, workshops, seminars, etc., to increase knowledge regarding current topics and issues pertaining to special education.
Assist in the development of agreements involving special education services between member schools and outside entities.
Performs/assumes other duties that may be assigned by the BMP Director.
16. Follow the policies and procedures of the BMP Staff Handbook.
EVALUATION: The performance of the Coordinator will be evaluated by the provisions of the BMP policy as described in the approved Evaluation Plan and Performance Objectives
