School Psychologist Qualifications: Requires a Master’s Degree or higher degree in Psychology or Educational Psychology with specialization in School Psychology and an Illinois Professional Educator License in School Psychology.
School Psychologist Other Qualifications/Competencies:
Must have the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with BMP staff, member districts, and related personnel and contribute to accomplishing a shared goal.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate with others, to create a climate of trust, and address possible conflict to resolve such conflict at the earliest possible stage.
School Psychologist Reports to: School Psychologist Supervisor
School Psychologist Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in Building Based Teams to facilitate the development of interventions and to monitor the progress of student performance.
Plan and/or implement interventions that may include counseling, in-class groups, one-to-one assistance with behavior, social skills training, etc.
Assist with the development of assessment questions and corresponding data collection.
Complete appropriate psychoeducational assessments for children who have or are suspected of having a disability to assist in determining educational needs and eligibility/entitlement for special education and related aids and services.
Attend and participate in Eligibility and Individual Education Planning Meetings to interpret assessment results and progress monitoring data to assist in determining appropriate interventions/supports and/or eligibility.
Conduct or assist with professional development opportunities, as requested/appropriate, to member district staff, parents, or community groups.
Provide relevant and knowledgeable consultation and support to member district personnel regarding systems-level progress monitoring/benchmarking activities and strategies to address the educational/behavioral/vocational needs of students.
Complete thorough professional records and reports within the expected timelines.
Attend training sessions, workshops, seminars, etc., to increase knowledge of current methodologies and issues in the field of School Psychology.
Perform/Assume other duties and/or responsibilities as may be assigned or approved by the School Psychologist Supervisor and/or BMP Director.
Follow the policies and procedures of the BMP Staff Handbook.
School Psychologist Evaluation: The performance of School Psychologists will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BMP policy as described in the approved Evaluation Plan and Performance Objectives.
School Psychologist Intern
School Psychologist Qualifications: Working towards a Master’s/Specialist Degree in School Psychology.

School Psychologist Intern Reports to: School Psychologist Intern Supervisor
School Psychologist Intern Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of an internship plan that meets the learning needs of the intern and satisfies the requirements of ISBE and the intern’s university program.
Participate on building Problem Solving Teams to provide consultation for educationally at-risk students, assist with the problem-solving process, and support data-based decision-making regarding interventions and monitoring of student progress in response to interventions.
Complete observations and/or screenings as appropriate to support development of interventions.
Plan and/or implement interventions for educationally at-risk students that may include class-wide, small-group, or individual supports to address academic skills, executive functioning skills, metacognitive skills, social/emotional skills, etc.
Provide consultation and support to member district personnel regarding systems-level academic and social-emotional benchmarking/screening and progress monitoring practices to support efficient and effective delivery of supports to educationally at-risk students.
Assist with the review of existing data, development of assessment questions, and assessment plan for students who have or are suspected of having a disability.
Complete psychoeducational assessments for children who have or are suspected of having a disability to assist in determining educational needs and eligibility for special education services.
Complete appropriately thorough and timely professional records and reports to document evaluation results and recommendations.
Participate in Eligibility and Individual Education Planning meetings to interpret assessment results and progress monitoring data to assist in determining appropriate interventions/supports and/or eligibility.
Conduct or assist with in-service training opportunities, as requested/appropriate.
Attend inservice training to increase knowledge of current methodologies and issues in the field.

School Psychologist Intern Evaluation: The performance of the School Psychologist Intern will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BMP policy as described in the approved Evaluation Plan as well as the University Evaluation Plan and Performance Objectives.

Effective for the 2024-2025 School Year, all newly hired Psychologists who are hired with 2 or fewer years of experience may be eligible for an additional $5,000 a year stipend for three years.
Qualifications:
You must be fully licensed and have the ability to work the full contract in a BMP-determined “hard to staff” position.
You must have 2 or fewer years of experience in your field.
You must sign a 3-year contract
You must receive “Proficient” or better on your final evaluation.
